At the center of this field is Moon General Hospital, a full-service general hospital in Shayestanagar, Habiganj, built on a medical legacy that stretches back to 2007. Founded and led by the founder's father, Shamsul Alam, it remains independently run today, with a long-term place planned within Roxanne Health.
The story starts well before Moon General Hospital existed. In 2007, Shamsul Alam, our founder's father, founded Moon Doctors Chamber in Shayestanagar, Habiganj — a small, modest-capacity practice at a time when private medical care wasn't yet the established, investable sector it is today. It was one of the earliest clinics of its kind in the area, opening well before the district's now-crowded clinic scene, where a new one seems to appear every hundred metres.
In 2011, that work expanded into Moon Doctors Chamber and Diagnostic Center in Sobujbagh, Habiganj, adding proper diagnostic services alongside consultation and building on the trust the original chamber had earned. Over these years Shamsul Alam became recognised as a pioneer of Habiganj's modern medical sector, well ahead of the curve.
That growing legacy became the foundation for something bigger. In 2019, it culminated in Moon General Hospital, opening back in Shayestanagar, Habiganj — not a small clinic building up gradually, but a full-service general hospital launched at scale from day one, covering thirteen specialist departments under one roof.
Moon General Hospital is not yet part of Roxanne Health formally — it remains an independent institution, run by Shamsul Alam. The plan is for it to join Roxanne Health once Roxanne Corporation has fully established its own identity and footing, with the founder stepping in to oversee it later, after his father retires.
Each department is led by a specialist consultant, supported by a broader team of general physicians who manage everyday patient care. Two resident doctors remain on-site around the clock, overseeing admitted patients and monitoring their condition on a continuous basis.
Where a case requires specialist attention, the resident doctor on duty evaluates the patient and brings in the relevant consultant to admit and treat them, including surgery where indicated. The hospital also maintains a full range of diagnostic and pathology services on-site, supporting timely clinical decision-making at every stage of care.
